The Owen Legacy Project has decided to wind down operations in 2026.
Formed in 2022, the Owen Legacy Project Owen Legacy Project Inc. was established to preserve and transmit the ministerial heritage of admired United Methodist minister David Glen Owen (1936-2021).
Its first project was a book of David’s sermons over seven decades of prophetic ministry on the challenges of the Christian road and the cultivation of social conscience. “When We Don’t Know the Length of the Race” gives Owen’s voice to seekers of truth and inspiration in a complicated world.
Thank you to all who have supported us in this journey to grow the legacy of Rev. David Owen’s wisdom and ministry.

Board of Directors
David Glen Owen (1936-2021) died in March 2021 after a 60-year career as a prophetic Methodist minister. His impact in Indiana since 1971 is significant—in religion, in art, in public discourse and policy, in writing, and in human welfare, equality and justice. He was a true voice for good in the service of God.
Helping that voice to be heard by future generations—that was the goal and work of the Owen Legacy Project.
A collection of David Owen’s prolific sermons over a span of seven decades.
